Breast pump help!

I am on day 5 and my milk is starting to come in. I've borrowed a pump from the hospital but how do i know I've got the right size kit? I had a 28mm thing and its made red rings around my nipples. Have got a 30mm to try but i think I've had the same thing as can see the nipple rubbing against the side of the tube as its being pumped but the 30mm is less uncomfortable. Should i be worried?

Congratulations! I had exactly the same problem, mine was using a hospital grade medela. Every woman is different and it can take a couple of attempts to find the right size flange. Kellymoms was a great resource for me on expressing and have diagrams on how your nipples should look when moving within the flanges, there so be no discomfort or redness. Having said that, it took a while for my nipples to get used to the flanges! Some people find using Lanisoh or coconut oil helped. Good luck!
