DD2 will be 8 weeks old on Wednesday, ans is still jaundiced! Can anyone beat that?

Yep...definitely...DD was more than 10 weeks and still a yellow babe! It was finally gone just past 11 weeks. A HV (not my own) told me I was poisoning her with my breast milk and should switch to formula . She was BF for 2 years, is now 8 and really healthy and perky! Keep at it, I say!

About the HV advice, obviously - not the length of jaundice!

Yeah...was pretty shocking. I asked a doctor friend about it and she said that formula flushes it out a lot faster but that BF is still best and the prolonged jaundice does no harm. We had to keep going to hospital for bilirubin checks but she was fine and it just took ages. We laugh at the photos now cos I stupidly bought her an orange fluffy newborn suit and she looked dreadful! With 8 years of hindsight, of course! hope you can be patient and stick with it. And ignore anyone who tells you different!
