I stopped at 4 mths, as soon as DD and DS were putting stuff in their mouths. I use the old fashioned sink method(!) because when they come out of the dishwasher they have a weird film on them (which I presume is rinse aid???).

Very hot soapy water is recommended by a lot of people

Phew I was hoping that would be ok, as I didnt realise until yesterday morning that the machine was doing this,so Ive been worried I could cause tummy bug. I do wash with scolding hot water and fairy liquid before hand.

I don't have a dishwasher so just wash in hot soapy water (use marigolds so I can stand the water hotter).
