Perhaps a silly question about pre-natal vits and breastfeeding?

Hi

I'm breastfeeding my DD who is nearly 1 yr old. She feeds quite frequently during the day and often once during the night. We are going to try for another baby soon and I wonder - can I take Sanatogen Pre-Natal vitamins and breastfeed? I don't normally take diet supplements but took these 3 mnths before TTC DD for the folic acid etc but is it ok to take these whilst still bfing?

Thanks
Lucy

Yes, they'll be fine, but if you're still worried then you can take just a folic acid tablet.

In fact pregnacare I think actually say on the box for pregnant and breastfeeding women!

Hi CSWS

Thanks for your reply. I still have a bottle of the Sanatogen (in date) from when I was pg with DD so I'll take those then look at the pregnacare.

Yes, you can take anything when you breastfeed.

I took Sanatagen Pronatal right through until finishing bf with my ds, as they specifically say suitable for all stages; pre-conception, pg and bf.
I normally take multi-vitamins but read that the vit A levels are wrong for pg so got onto those pink ones and just kept going.
