Stopping bf at 15 months but dairy allergic daughter won't take milk

Have stopped bf since Sunday. Daughter has cows milk protein allergy and started to take soy milk (the Junior version) after trying various others. She took it from a bottle in daytime with no problems but two nights running vomited it all back up. I'd prefer not to give her a bottle anyway but she takes so little from a cup or beaker it seemed the only way. Dietician and Health Visitor both discouraging using a bottle and I've tried several cups and beakers over the last few days without success. Health visitor said not to worry about it as she takes soy yoghurt, custard and dairy free formula in her cereal but dietician did a calculation which said she is very slightly under her daily calcium requirements without the additional milk. I tried putting it in some porridge tonight but she hates porridge and wouldn't take that. Don't know what else to do.

Would a calcium supplement make up the deficit? Have you tried other dairy free 'milks'? Almond milk is probably the nicest.

This resource (link below) might be useful - on the milk choice and other aspects of diet and nutrients. You didn't say baby is brought up as vegan but as she's cows milk protein allergic, there is overlap with some aspects of a vegan baby's diet

This does say that unsweetened calcium fortified soya, almond, oat or coconut milk can be used. (P68 and 73).

And gives guidance on other foods that can help make up particular nutrients of concern. For calcium, things like tinned sardines (mashing in the bones) can also be used and am sure there are lots of others.

Hi my child also I initially refused anything other than breast milk so the dietician suggested mixing my breastmilk with Oatly (blue box as recommended by dietitian). I gradually reduced my milk but it did take about 2 weeks. May not be any use to you but it worked for us despite the struggle to express.
