How do you wean or day wean an 13+ month old?

Who is obsessed with breastfeeding and doesn't eat anywhere near the amount to survive on.

My daughter is a picky eater, won't be spoon fed and barely touches anything.

She makes this up by breastfeeding loads during the day and night -

I have always been keen to feed on demand but it's just not possibly to do this during the day anymore but I don't want the drama of forcing her to wean.. As it is she is a hideous sleeper so don't want to make this worse.

Any advice?

I found that at about a year, my kids started breastfeeding recreationally, doing it more if they were bored. And I was never good at being pulled at and hassled. So I started limiting where I would feed - mostly to my room and their room. This cuts down on daytime feeds a lot.

I would try to improve the eating, at the same time. You could start a thread on Food or Weaning about her eating, and get ideas for more foods to offer, maybe? Or ways to keep it from turning into a battle?
