hi there my 19 week old is demanding breastfeeding almost constantly in the evenings and every hour in the day at the moment, but especially at night, 6pm onwards, is this a sign she is ready for solilds? also dribbling could it be her teeth and for comfort? not sure whether to try and hold on to 6 months or try some solids

From my (rather limited, just one DS, now 7 mths) experience, it sounds like teething to me and therefore could well be comfort feeding - mine is a great one for that. Thinking about it, there's a definite correlation between the start of his teething and him becoming a great c-feeder.
I tried to hold off solids until 6 months, though there was much external pressure and we had a couple of false starts. In the end went with his signals at 5.5 months, have never pureed a thing and find life is much simpler (see BLW - Baby Led Weaning threads).
Good luck, I do sympathise.

Does she feed much during the night? If not she will need to have a lot of milk in the evenings, to tank herself up for the night. Honestly, feeding every hour during the day sounds pretty normal to me at that age. Also, it could be a growth spurt.

sounds like a growth spurt and/or teething to me - if I were you I'd bag the best space on the sofa and line up some dvds...

it won't last forever, and if you can hold off solids till she's 6mo and can sit up alone etc you'll probably get a much easier ride

Sounds normal and nothing to do with solids. Does she feed at night? A lot of babies cluster feed in the evenings. Could be comfort-snacking too and why not?
