Hi,
I'm new to this discussion board but have been avidly reading your words of wisdom for the past few months. I have a ds who is 14 weeks old. Stupidly today I managed to scratch a spot and gives myself an infected arm so the doctor has prescribed me an antibiotic. Apparently this is safe to use while breastfeeding but a small amount does enter the breastmilk. Is there anyway to minimise this, such as taking the antibiotic straight after feeding? would this allow my body to expel as much of the antibiotic as possible before feeding? or does the antibiotic stay there once its in the breastmilk? Would I be better to switch to formula and throw out expressed breastmilk while I'm on the antibiotics?
Your thoughts would be very much appreciated. I am a first time Mum and finding all these decisions difficult to make?
