BF mom wondering how many nappys i should be changing...

hello ladies...maybe u can all help me, my dd was having a bm almost every other nappy change, now we have almost a day between bms. having plenty of wet nappys, just all of audden (after a bout of thrush) her bms have dropped drastically. she is 8 wks old and bf exclusively. any thoughts?

It does change once they hit about 6-8 weeks if I remember correctly and their bowels settle down.

I think its anything between 3 a day and once every 2 days is considered normal.

If she seems constipated take her to HV to get her checked out.

After about 8 weeks, my DD produced a poo about once a fortnight and this was normal. She wasn't straining or uncomfortable and her stomach wasn't rigid, so no problem. Now she's on solids, it has all become more "standard". All it is is that your DD's digestive system has matured and so hardly any waste is produced - BM being such perfect food for them. Check with your HV, but they see this all the time.

Hi Nene, I hope this helps. It seems to say that this change is normal as long as urine and weight gain are fine.
