She is nearly 10 months.

Just googled it and they say peel, boil and deseed.

Other sites said just peel.

I was thinking of chopping into matchsticks and giving it to her

I would just peel.

PotteringAlong · 01/03/2016 12:50

Neither! Just cut it and give it to her.

Murphyslaw21 · 01/03/2016 12:52

Ok so no need to boil?

Who's peeling and boiling cucumbers?!! Just chop it up and give it to her.

FellOutOfBedTwice · 01/03/2016 12:53

Also- boiled cucumber would be horrible. Imagine the texture!!! Don't do this, I beg on behalf of tastebuds everywhere Grin

SatsGrrrr · 01/03/2016 12:54

If you peel, boil and de-seed - there will be nothing left Grin

It is very soft - I would just peel.

Tuiles · 01/03/2016 12:55

Cut into 2" long fingers so that there is peel on the outside to help grip and access to the soft middle for sucking. Leave the seeds in!

FATEdestiny · 01/03/2016 12:55

How bizarre

I just give my child food. AS in food as I would eat it. I don't peel or deseed cucumber, so why would the baby?

My Dad used to peel is cucumber because he said the peel gave him indigestion. So maybe some people like to peel cucumbers? I wouldn't though, unless there was a specific need to.

Sticks or half circles, great cold from fridge for teething gums too.

Murphyslaw21 · 01/03/2016 12:56

Thanks guys. I was thinking just wash and chop but I thought just google it. And seriously said boil it. I did think it seemed bonkers.

Thank you

In sticks, my DS loved the seeds and at 2.8 still pretty much just eats the seeds !

WilLiAmHerschel · 01/03/2016 12:57

I used to just chop it for my dd. Usually in barons rather than slices as it was easier for her to pick up. She never actually ate it but that's by the by.

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 01/03/2016 12:58

Sticks have been given here from six months, no peeling, no adulteration of any kind.

adreamworld · 01/03/2016 13:04

Cucumber peel makes you burp so I would peel it!

Artandco · 01/03/2016 13:06

Peel doesn't make you burp! Never heard of that. We all eat loss of it. Just wash, chop and eat

PotteringAlong · 01/03/2016 13:07

It works very well for teething if it's frozen.
