my 4mo ds has suddenly gone from a relaxed 5/6 ounces 5 times a day (one of those between 7pm and 7am, normally about 2am), to a frantic 7 ounces every three hours through the day, and two in the night (10ish and 3ish). that means he is having 7 feeds a day of about 7 ounces... i thought it might be a growth spurt but it's been 3 days now and no sign of him slacking off... is this normal? how much should he be eating at his age?
at this rate there's no chance in the world i'll ever get him to drop his middle-of-the-night feed, since he's waking up starving!
my mum reckons i should think about weaning but i feel that he's too young (apparently i was eating fish and chips at his age, but they were the days when the streets were paved with gold and everyone was happy).

i was thinking about getting him to have more at each feed, but he can't seem to manage more in one go.

its a growth spurt. 3 days is not long at all. and like all humans, babies' appetites vary anyway...

its a growth spurt. it will ease. no need to wean just yet.
