no poo for 6 days and sicky too

I posted on here a couple of weeks back about DS's poo - he hadn't gone for 4 days. After that, he did a huge poo and another one the next day. Since then it's been another 6 days! Is this the way it's going to be now? HE seems pretty windy with it and is being a bit more sick than usual - is this anything to do with it? He's gaining weight and has lots of wet nappies but I do find it quite distressing when he possets and vomits, especially as it can often be large amounts.

HOw old?
My DS was like that. He eventually stopped being sick all the time but the pooh thing stayed. he's now 15 months and still only poos in batches once a week.

He's breastfed, fully, and is 8 weeks old. I called HV who said to take him in so they can feel his tummy. Some people are saying it's because breastmilk is so pure there's so little waste, but after 4 days of no poo last time, there was definitely 4 days' worth which came out at the end!

They do go without a poo for a long time quite often.
I hope Tiktok or Mears can give you more accurate advice.
Some babies are a bit sicky too unfortunately.

Is the frequency of sickness getting worse? Is it after every feed? Is it projectile/forceful or does it dribble out?

It's only dribbly dick so probably nothing to worry about, I'm just a sensitive new mum I guess! Went to the GP today for myself, while I was there told him about DS. The doctor inserted a finger into poor DS's bottom, and instantly the poo started flowing! HE suggested giving DS water, but HV said not to. What does anybody think?

Fully breastfed babies need nothing but water.
GPs generally know very little about breastfeeding.

I did think the GP was pretty useless and he was rubbish at handling DS. At one point he got up to fetch his rubber gloves, leaving a squirming baby dangerously close to the edge of the bed. Really wish I'd said something but he was so patronising I sat in silence most of the time. MUCH prefer dealing with midwives and HVs when it comes to babies!
