whats the best bottles and sterilisers to use?

going to be bottle feeding baby when they arrive, with ds (nearly 6 years ago) the best make at the time was Avent, so we had Avent bottles and steam steriliser all though i hated the steriliser found it to difficult to clean.

so this time im thinking of Tommie Tippie bottles and steriliser the bottles look really fab and have lots of good features.

anyone used them are they good or crap or recomend another brand? im off for a bath before ds comes home from school later so will back later TIA

i used tommee tippee bottles and the microwave steriliser.. very pleased, reasonably priced, easy to get hold of if you need more teats etc.....

i should be getting a bath now instead im glued to my chair on MN!!

But i really do like the look of them.

I tried loads of bottles (nearly 2 years ago now) and still liked avent best.

Don't sterilise though. Wash in hot soapy water and air dry.

thanks for the advice fruitful, im a major worrier and hypecondriact and i would feel 100% better knowing that i had sterilised them.

im really off for a bath now!

I am using avent, think they are great. Sterilizer (not a microwave one) is v.simple to clean and worth every penny... i bought mine in the Jan sales last year and it was half the price as they had bought out a new design... (the lid was different!)

ew didnt have branded ones, bought bottles from £ shop and a microwave steam steriliser from chemist and they were both fine

DD mainly BF but have occasionally used Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature and found them very good. Didn't bother sterilising, just washed in dishwasher.

i use boots bottles with mam teats.

Boots own brand of bottles and teats are great. The teats are shaped like a nipple and they are really good value for money too.

Thankyou kanga for your advice but personly myself and dp would prefer to sterilise, there is proberbly no need to sterilise like you explained but we would just feel happier to sterilise please dont take offence to it i appreciate you going out of your way to share your view with me

Every family is different as every baby is different

I use the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles and steriliser and have not had any problems with them. Luckily when I got them they were half price in tesco but that offer has probably finished now. I still sterilise and will continue to do so for a few more months yet - ds is 11 weeks old now. (My dd hated avent teats so I vowed not to use them for the new baby too)

I use NUK bottles and dummys, and Lindam steam steriliser. Teats come in 3 different sizes. All great sterilizer a scoosh to clean and use.
