Breastfeeding advice.....Breast Implants and Uplift

Hi all,

pregnant with my second and really want to breastfeed this time round, didn't do it with first as he was not feeding correctly at the beginning (figured out 2 weeks old he was putting his tounge on top of the teet of the bottle, same when I tried to breastfeed) however, after putting on a tremendous amount of weight the first time and then losing it my boobs were in a pretty bad way and I had an uplift and implants to get them back to a "normal" shape.....has anyone breastfed after having the same surgery?

I have googled it and seen most sites saying although I should be able to I wont be able to do it solely as I wont produce enough milk. is it worth combination feeding or should I just get over the idea now?

advice welcome!

I don't think there's anyway of knowing until you try actually. You might be able to ebf, or combination feed.

Does your mw know about your surgery? In any case, It would be a good idea to get in contact with a bfc at this stage and set up good RL support for the early days, which you can then check back in with as time goes on.

Thanks Tripple, I have my first MW appointment on Monday so will bring it up then and see if she can point me in the right direction and maybe find a bfc. If it was just implants it wouldn't be an issue, its the uplift that will cause the problem as all nerve endings were cut!
