my 8 wk old is constantly making straining noises, he was constipated but we now have him on lactulose which has really helped however he is still going red and straining while being bottle fed.
I manage to burp him then when I put him down the grunting noises start its like he is just generally Uncomfy, the doctor told us to try gaviscon but this doesn't seem to do anything, I'm thinking of trying infacol.. But as a ftm I am unsure as to what's wrong with him ?? and the doctors don't seem to be much help!!

Is he better if you sit him up? If so its likely to be wind. DS does this and isn't the easiest baby to wind unfortunately.

Does he seem in pain at all? Could you swap his milk?

Just realised how stupid my first question was. I should have said, what is it that makes you think he is in pain rather than just normal pooing?

Unless he is crying, I don't think you have anything to worry about Smile
