I'm pregnant with DC2 and am planning on mixed feeding. DD had 1 bottle of formula a day, occasionally 2. We'll probably do the same this time as then I'll get a few hours' sleep (ha, perhaps) whilst DP does the childcare.
Before DD was born, I did NCT classes and the leader warned us, all doom and gloom, that if I were to miss a feed regularly then my body would not be able to produce milk if I needed to at that point. From my own experience, this turned out to be absolute rubbish; I could feed DD as and when I needed to and never had a problem with supply.
I've heard this from other people again this pregnancy, and was wondering if this is how it works for other people? Was I just lucky in the fact that I could feed as and when?
If you mixed-fed, were you unable to breastfeed at the normal bottle times if you needed to? Is it just something that the evangelical breast-feeding promoters say to try and scare people off formula?
