Tongue tie cut and now not feeding at all

Dd2 tt was cut today and now she wont breastfeed at all.

Looks like her tongue is naturally going to the back even further now.

As she's lost a lot of weight i am also expressing and topping her up but this afternoon it's been all bottles.

Any ideas how l can help her latch? We are doing skin to skin but she'd sleeping at the moment.

I'm very close to giving up. I've spent 2 weeks working on this and have barely seen dd1 and I'm beginning to feel I'm letting both dd down.

Does she seem hungry? Are you topping up with formula? It could just be because her tongue is still sore from the cut. Did she latch on after it was cut?

Just to update in case someone else needs this, she wouldn't latch on after the procedure. Dh has spent an hour giving her a bottle of expressed milk now (which is 9 hours afterwards ) and 'teaching' her to put her tongue down. Then when she wasn't hungry i put her on and she is feeding brilliantly.

I wish they had told me she might be sore for 12-24 hours and might refuse to feed.

Wishing you and her lots and lots of luck. It's knackering & emotional hard expressing. Tongue tie snip made all the difference to my DS. Done at 7 weeks - still feeding now first & last thing at 20 months. The improvement wasn't immediate, it took a few weeks for him to figure out how to feed comfortably, but it was so much better than expressing.
