and always wants milk on tap. it means she is refusing food and wanting to feed more at night. you would have thought she was having the 6 wk growth spurt last night.

i thought i would just ride it out but last night it was driving me up the wall. i can't see an end to it as it seems to be getting worse over the last month.

do i just start to refuse her at night and day?

how do i set limits with minimal aggro?

she's 19 months.

I found my kids got to the "milk on tap" thing, and feeding all the time out of boredom at about a year. My response was to limit where I would breastfeed, and only really feed at home, in a bedroom.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with feeding all the time, wherever you like, but if it's bugging you, limiting where you feed works fine. You need to be very firm, you have a day or so of horror, and then they understand.

It does mean you can be flexible about timing - if DS2 is poorly, we can stay in bed together all day and feed, and I haven't changed the rules, we're still feeding in a normal place.

I don't know what to say about night feeds, I was mean and stopped those ages before now .

thanks nqc. i decided to keep her distracted yesterday and she only hollered till 10.30 am when i gave her cheesy pasta and she scarved down loads of it. it kept her from asking. I gave her another big bowl later on.

it probably kept her from turning into limpet child last night.

i don't mind night feeds as we co-sleep. i figure she is in nursery full time and if the quality time she can spend with me is in bed, so be it and it has worked out great for the 3 of us.

problem was that she was on and off me 5 times in 2 hrs the night before last.
