Hello this is my first time on your site and I have really enjoyed reading all you discussions I hope someone can help me. My son is just over 4 months old and weighs over 18lb. I swapped from SMA gold to SMA white 3 weeks ago to delay weaning but he is still feeding every 3 hours. He has slept through the night from 5 weeks old and has continuted to do so. My health visitor suggested I start weaning and so far he has had a teaspoon of babyrice at 11am. My question is can I swap back to SMA gold as I only swapped to SMA white to delay weaning and this didnt work. This is my 3rd baby but my first boy, my girls were no where near as hungry! I was told you couldn't swap back, but then I had my first a long time and advice may have changed.
As long as the White isn't upsetting him I don't see the point of bothering to swap back tbh.
If he's still going through the night,he can't be that hungry, and he's feeding frequently during the day to make sure he gets his calories in then.

I must admit i did swop back to gold. white was great to begin with but after perhaps 3 months it didn't make that much difference and ds was getting constipated and he refused water. it didn't appear to do him any harm and helped the constipation bit jealous really, my ds is 6 months old and weighs 17 1/2lb compared to your 18!!!!

i was told that i cannot swap back too as i swapped it from gold to white when DD was 8 weeks old..she was a VERY hungry baby as 9 bottles of 6/7oz per day!....as she went onto the white, it took her about 3 weeks before i started to noticed the difference as she was taking less milk - phew!

and also every 2nd day i give her a pre-boiled lukewarm water incase of constipation which she never got
