Electric pump not very good - is manual likely to work?

Hello - I have a Lanisoh electric breastfeeding pump. I haven't use it a lot cos it's a faff to set up, then it takes ages to get tiny amount of milk. DS goes to nursery in September aged 11 months so I want to express for that and for some baby food recipes that require milk. Is it worth getting a manual pump? I.e. is it possible I'd manage to express more this way?

Yes. I did manage to express more with a manual and know others who are the same. After a whole of using it I think it improved. My technique and I got more from my electric too. I just got a little Philips advent one, though my electric pump was quite posh as I didn't want to waste more money if it didn't work.

Tommee tippee closer to nature manual pump worked well for me until it lost suction, I complained to them online and got sent out a replacement part and it's all good again. In the meantime I tried an electric pump (same brand) and got the same amount of milk out but does take longer! Benefit is though, you can do it at the same time as feeding baby on the other boob. So you're not wasting time sitting pumping after a feed when you can be playing with your bubba!

Manual seems to work a bit better for me too. I use the Medela manual in the bath and in bed last thing at night / first thing in morning while baby is asleep.

I've been using the Avent Natural manual pump and seem to get plenty so never tried an electric pump!

Thanks everyone! I bought a Phillips Avent for £20, just tried it and got much more than I'd managed with electric. Much more portable too!
