Hi, I'm ebf'ing my 11wk old son. Been introducing bottles so DH can feed him b.m also. DS will not accept bottle. Using new Avent bottles with nipple style teet. He has taken in once in a dream feed but and once him his Nana when he was starving but won't take it from DH...not even if he is really hungry. I have thrown about 40+oz down the sink at this stage and it is heartbreaking. Any tips to get him to accept it? I haven't tried myself as I'm worried he'll get confused between the two. All advice gratefully appreciated!

Same problem here with 16 wk old. Would be interested to see if anyone comes up with any advice!

What eventually worked with DS was a lot of patience, Nuk teats and doing a kind of jiggly swing dance while trying the bottle, jiggling the bottle in his mouth a little too. Luckily we don't have to do the jiggly swing dance any more!

Cobo, thanks for that. I'll buy Nuk teets and give them a go. As for the jiggly dance, if needs must!
Funny he takes a bottle during a dream feed but not when he's awake!

DS still takes a bottle most enthusiastically when he's asleep. I think their suck reflex just kicks in without their opinions getting involved!

It might be the temperature.

We got DS to take a bottle by giving him freshly expressed milk. I expressed an Oz and DH gave this to him straight away while I expressed another Oz so it was at the temperature that he was used to.

Worth a try before you buy lots of new bottles & teats?
