Just the above really. Does anyone give their breastfed baby vitamin drops? I keep reading conflicting advice. I take breastfeeding vitamins daily myself and ds has just begun weaning.

I give mine haliborange. Quite a basic one - D, C, B, A. 5ml a day.
The well baby stuff with iron upset her tummy!

There shouldn't be any conflicting advice - the NHS position has been the same for several years and this is what HVs should be communicating to parents:

What else have you been told, makeitpretty?

Thank you for the link tiktok. The pages which I read only somewhat suggested that it is a recommendation not a must. My HV has never mentioned it also which is slightly worrying.

Thank you squiz. I saw some drops on offer at the supermarket today, I will give them a try!

Your HV should have mentioned it, for sure.

I wouldn't have known this if I didn't go to baby cafe. No health visitor mentioned it outside of baby cafe. I give DD well baby as these were the ones recommended to me, and she has no issue with them.

I asked my gp about this and was told it wasn't necessary. Weird!

I was told I should take a vitamin with D in it myself - and to give dd drops from 6 months. Thought this was the norm?

DuckChowMein · 21/04/2015 22:50

I wasn't told anything about this either and ds is 3 months now. He'll be okay if i get him started on them now won't he?

Bf babies don't need till six mths. Ff babies don't need them at all as supplements are in the formula.

Thanks Tiktok. I just noticed the 6 month thing when i read the thread properly! I've bought some Baby D Drops which I'll keep in the cupboard until ds is 6 months.
