I've just cleaned the oven door...

(Using evil oven cleaner.) Can I still breastfeed? Sorry, I feel so stupid. I get very anxious very easily at the moment (sleep deprivation/hormones!).

Baby is 3months old.

I wore gloves and kept all the windows open and made sure to breathe over my shoulder/away from the oven. Baby was well away from the action (upstairs in his cot).

Any urgent help would be appreciated as when he wakes he's gonna be veeeery hungry! We ebf so not sure what the alternative would be short of running to the shop to buy some formula?!

Really hoping someone can reassure me/hand me a grip :-(

Yes breast feeding will be fine, I assume you haven't eaten the oven cleaner Smile

Cobo · 10/03/2015 10:18

It'll be fine. :)

Unless you had a quick swig of the oven cleaner you will be completely fine!

Is it wrong that I assumed you were going to say '...with a baby wipe'?

monkeymamma · 10/03/2015 10:33

Thank you so much for the replies! I really really appreciate it.

Lancelottie I do all the rest of my housework with a baby wipe :-)

Can you shower before you feed? Just to rid your skin/body of any fumes - though I doubt it's really going to matter?!

Lancelottie · 10/03/2015 11:41

So do I -- those things could probably deal with an industrial oil spill!

No need to shower.

Something you breathe in will not get anywhere near your milk.
