Any experience of lip tie revision under GA?

Hi, my 5 month old is due to have her lip tie revised on Monday, under general anaesthetic. Has anyone any experience of this procedure and the recovery? The hospital sent a load of stuff warning about possible complications of the anaesthetic so I'm now much more worried than I was! Can anyone offer any reassurance about how little ones recover from GA and whether the procedure has helped feeding/speech/teething?

Thanks everyone!

My lg had her upper lip tie done in November. She was nearly two and advanced with her language skills but had a pronounced toddler lisp which is much improved since the snip. She was fine (if a bit clingy) the next day. She had a GA before for a MRI (at 6 months) so I was prepared. It's not fun but it's ok, they feel such a weight in your arms and will need help to support their neck immediately afterwards but she was fine, asking for food within 30 minutes of coming round. Clear your schedule for lots of cuddles for a few days and take it easy. Baby wearing in a (neck) supportive sling helped us, I think she was quite distressed about the separation and strangeness of it all so being worn was instantly soothing. X

Thanks Gcalgske, that's really helpful to know. I think I'm going to ask if nursery can have my (noisy, attention needy) four year old for the Tuesday so I can devote some cuddle time, and good tip about the sling, I'll do that. When we saw the consultant I was very clear about wanting the tie sorted out, just now it's here she seems so little for a GA! x
