I hope no one minds me posting this Breastfeeding Quiz which NCT is conducting for Bf Awareness Week. They'd like lots of particpants! It only takes a couple of minutes to do. TIA

Yes, we should send this one to Lav's DH! He and his mates could do it down the pub!

grumpyzebra · 22/04/2004 18:05

I got 4 wrong: Guiness, allergies (isn't brfeeding a risk factor with severe asthma??), % of public acceptance (not that I frankly give a damn) and... something else!

baldrick · 22/04/2004 18:13

got 12 out of 16, the water one, unicef, silicone and the gastos one got wrong, not bad though

baldrick · 22/04/2004 18:15

thanks dinosaur, he would have got that one right and probably would have got more than me

dinosaur · 22/04/2004 18:17

Oh I thought he was very anti-breastfeeding in public, must have got that wrong.

baldrick · 22/04/2004 18:18

better not bring that up again, if you don't mind thanks

bossykate · 22/04/2004 18:19

so baldrick, were you lavender?

coppertop · 22/04/2004 18:21

baldrick · 22/04/2004 18:22

I got all the questions right! Will I get a prize now?

Posey · 22/04/2004 20:49

Just one wrong.

Lisa78 · 22/04/2004 20:51

A smug 16 for me too!

prettycandles · 22/04/2004 20:56

13/16 I fell for the Guinness one! and the redheads one, but (and of course I'm the Great Expert) I disagree with the not needing to drink water one, because the breastfeeding support groups in hot countries (Israel, for example) say that all babies need extra water during very hot weather.

kiwicath · 22/04/2004 21:00

I'm off to stand in the corner The guinness one was just wishful thinking

kiwicath · 22/04/2004 21:05

Prettycandles, I also thought so too (the water one I mean) but I'm living in Egypt and my Egyptian Pediatrician says no need for water. Tricky to know what to do. I guess my boobs are going to be out preddy much all summer then

prettycandles · 22/04/2004 21:07

Not a problem really, Kiwicath, if the baby seems a little dry (eyes, lips, nappy etc) despite extra feeding, then a little boiled water does no harm. Even NCT BFCounsellor agreed when I queried that!

aloha · 22/04/2004 21:14

All right, but as MI says, not difficult to guess. I did know that silicone in breast implants doesn't leak into milk though.

alexsmum · 22/04/2004 21:38

15 out of 16. got the silicone one wrong as didn't realise there was any silicone in formula milk.

toddlerbob · 22/04/2004 23:09

One mistake, but not serious as I don't have red hair and fair skin. I have sent it to a pg friend.
