Do any other breast feeding ladies out there get absolutely ravenous in the middle of the night???

Yes yes yes. Box of Frusli bars in the bedside table at all times, and a gallon of water on the side.

helloelo · 21/01/2015 05:59

Yes!!!! For me it's rice crackers and cold herbal tea :)

duzzlightyearsmum · 21/01/2015 06:03

Oh definitely everytime I'm up feeding it's awful! Crackers/rich tea and pints of water!!! I thought you were meant to lose weight quicker by breastfeeding?? Not at this rate!

MistletoeBUTNOwine · 21/01/2015 06:11

DS is 1 and still bf and I still eat in the night!
When he was newborn DP used to buy me a pack of rocky bars every other day to eat in the night... Kept them in my knicker drawer! Smile

SASASI · 21/01/2015 08:33

I used to make sandwiches & take them up to bed ..and cake! Well seeing I havnt lost this weight by the magic of breastfeeding lol

tinymeteor · 21/01/2015 10:40

I could generally tell when DD was having a growth spurt because I'd suddenly want to eat ALL THE FOOD. Rice pudding is a goodun

mrsmilkymoo · 21/01/2015 12:59

Dd sleeps through the night now but before that oh my goodness yes! Used to eat ginger biscuits in the night - a continuation of pregnancy!

BiscuitsofYum · 21/01/2015 13:13

I always thought you were meant to loose some of the pregnancy weight.. However every time I sit down to feed I need food and a mass amount of water..

mrsmilkymoo · 21/01/2015 14:24

I think I heard somewhere that the weight loss benefits really kick in between three and six months. However, dd is five months now and I'm yet to see this...probably because I am eating far more than I used to and indulging in more frequent hot chocolates!

Bellyrub1980 · 21/01/2015 20:25

Oh god this is making me hungry!!

Not hungry but twice as thirsty as a day feed makes me. I'll down 2 pints of water easy.

mrsmugoo · 21/01/2015 21:53

Would get through entire packets of chocolate digestives in the night!

JuniDD · 21/01/2015 21:55

Yep, Dp used to make me bowls of porridge. Now I just drink water or have cereal with warm milk if I can't make it through.

LissieD · 22/01/2015 13:51

4 week old ds and I also have a box of frusli bars and 2 pints of water by my bed

CoolCat2014 · 22/01/2015 19:02

Yes! Think I got through a loaf of bread a day during the newborn stage!

Honeybear30 · 22/01/2015 19:05

I had this to but it wore off at about ten weeks I'd say. Not the thirst though, oh so thirsty allllll the time.

Weight loss...I've been losing so much weight that I've had to actively eat more. I weigh less now than before I was pregnant. My DS is huge though, I reckon he must be taking a lot from me. He's 91st centile.
