On the breast for only a few minutes at a time

My 8 week old only feeds for about 5 minutes at a time before he refuses one breast so I generally then feed from the other side. His weight gain is fantastic and following just under the 91st centile so I'm not worried about him. Just wondering if anyone else's lo has ultra quick feeds.
Can they really get all the fore and hind milk they need this quickly???

My DS was the same, just a really efficient feeder. Always been on 75th and now 11mths.
If weight gain is fine then don't worry and spend the time you might be feeding admiring your gorgeous boy

Ds was weighed again today - 13lb 11ozs and still doing really well just under the 91st line .H.V said that I did well to express 50mls yesterday, shame ds only drunk 10mls before falling asleep so the rest was wasted

He seems to be clearly showing that they can get all the fore and hind milk with his weight gain!

That is fantastic that you are able to nurse him in that time. My SIL was the exact same.. we (dd and i)were generally nursing for 30 - 45 minutes at a time - Nightmare!!

You both clearly have it down to a fine art Well Done..

Thanks Determination Sometimes I'd like him to stay on for longer but he obviously doesn't want to hang around
