Has anyone tried lillypadz breast pads?

Saw these and they seem a good idea but would love to know if anyone has tried them and if they actually work.

There seems to be quite a lot of positive feedback for these. My personal opinion is that if the milk is naturally to come out it should not be prevented and this is what the lilypadz do.

I use them and they are fab, dont reduce milk supply and stay stuck if you stick them on properly takes a while to get that right, well it took me a while!!

I use them and I love them, much prefer them to regular pads. They are really discreet. And good value too, if you use them for a while.

excellent value given that I'm buying a box a week at the moment and they cost about £4 a box

I used them and they did seem to work. However, the whole time I was using them I just felt slightly worried about whether it's very healthy - plastic directly on skin is bound to make your breasts hotter than they would normally be etc and although the actually lilypadz are really hygenic in that you can sterilize them etc, it still seemed slightly weird and as if the raised tempreture might breed bacteria??? However, having said that, they were a godsend and really helped control my oversupply problem!

I used Chicco breast pads last time which had breathable plastic on the back and I thought they were brilliant. All the books and literature say not to use plastic but I think it is all alot more breathable than it used to be. My chicco breast pads never leaked and I never had any prob breastfeeding til 8months. They were expensive though.

The thing I am worried about is that they will leak. When I think about how my boobs used to spray milk when full esp when DS cried, cant understand how they would stop it coming out?

Boots do a really good washable breast pad with a leakproof outer.(£5 for 6 I think)
I've used them for 9 mths and think they're the best compared to Lansinoh & Avent washables/disposables, mind you they're not invisible under thin material & they do sometimes wander a bit which I guess the lilypads wouldn't.

I think the suction of the plastic on skin probably forms some sort of vacuum or applies enough pressure to stop any milk coming out.

Cheers everyone. Guess that the only way I will find out is if I try them in Jan when my 2nd baby is due. Got some chicco breast pads left over form last time just in case!

Hiya - I got a pair and had a very heavy flow - they did not work for me then - but when my flow eased up they worked ok - but I was so used to wearing dispoables that I forgot to use them. I think I used mine about 3 or 4 times. Happy to offer them for sale (fully sterilised of course) to anyone who wants to have a go before shelling out for full price ones - though you may not need another pair. email me if interested dabroadhurst@ yahoo.co.uk. I think that if your flow is regulated they would be amazine and so much cheaper in the long run than disposables.

That is exactly what I was thinking would happen Broadie. Might use disposables to start with then when I have stopped spurting IYSWIM then try them!

thread about these the other day - I find them fab.

They work but holding your nipple in & I still get that tingly letdown feeling. They have leaked once, but when I used normal breastpads I think they leaked almost every day !

I've been using them for about 11 weeks - DD2 is 12.5 weeks & they are the best thing

If you have a seriously heavy flow - i'd reccommend the chicco breast pads - super duper absorbant - I don't use dispoable nappies - but they are pretty similar - but less bulky (he he)

I'm still breastfeeding my daughter morning and night now and my let down is captured with a muslin shoved in the other bra! Can't beleive its a year already - I remember thinking my boobs would never stop leaking - but they did eventually - at about 8 months I think!!
