I've posted this in the conception area too - hope double posts are allowed?

call me crazy but after a particularly devastating loss last year, I want to have as many babies as possible - well, 3 or 4 let's say - as close together as possible (influenced in part by my age - nearly 34)
So I finally have a beautiful little girl and would like to start ttc again while I am still bfing her - don't want to give up bf as am only too aware that I am lucky to be doing it - but any idea how I can coax those eggs to start popping out again? Have not had a period since the birth

all wisdom and advice gratefully received!!

stargazing - I'm not sure if you can influence it to be honest. Some people start periods again whilst fully breastfeeding at 3 months, others don't start till the baby is 18 months or older. Usually, as far as anything is usual given such a range of experiences, you need the baby to be sleeping long stretches at night and therefore having big gaps between feeds before ovulation is likely to recommence. And even then, it may take a while. And decreasing feeds is not something I would do if you're happy feeding and keen to keep it up.

The other thing I would say is that at 34 you've still got a fair time to have a couple more, if not three more if you find you want to. I had my first dd at 31, am planning gaps of nearly 3 years between my kids and hope to have 3 children, and it'll be finance rather than my biological clock that will probably prevent me making it 4!!

Good luck, and enjoy your daughter.
