dark wet nappies - healthy formula fed poo? including pic

Baby is 3 weeks old and we're switching to formula. Were not sure if he has an intolerance to formula or not.

His nappies were orange and seedy and have now turned to this. Is it normal?

They look darker and less green in real life.

I do know they are supposed to change, just not sure if they should look like this.

Thanks for any advice

Are the foamy?

and other seemingly unrelated things you have noticed?

unsettled or very dry skin or constant congestion?

how's his bum is there a my nappy rash

FluffyRedSocks · 30/12/2014 17:16

If that was my ds it would be dirrohea, but equally, give it two weeks for everything to settle down after a formula change, if your worried see a hv though

Giles - yy to constant congestion and he has a little rash in his face. Unsettled and coughs a lot.

grunting?

KnackeredMerrily · 30/12/2014 17:54

Not grunting no, no nappy rash. Nappy didn't appear foamy or mucousy. He's not arching hisback like he's in pain or hiccuping really. But he does do big hacking coughs poor fella

hmm. what formula are you using.

Dd was intolerant but she was clearly in pain.and had really bad rash too.

If your only just switching he might just need some time. To get used to it maybe try a comfort formula

KnackeredMerrily · 30/12/2014 18:36

Thanks, he's currently on SMA comfort

I'd give him a bit more time and if he gets worse take him to the Dr.

is he sick at all?

SMA gave my oldest horrible green nappies - we switched to Cow&Gate and had no problems.
