Struggling with breastfeeding at 8 weeks

dd2 is 8 weeks tomorrow and I have been breastfeeding and topping up with formula. All of a sudden over the last 2 or so days she has started rejecting the breast, first rejecting the second side after feeding quite happily on the first side, and now altogether. She has been feeding quite happily up until now.

I am also expressing but only get about 30ml at a time.

I am starting to feel like she is rejecting me and unfortunately getting quite upset. Any suggestions?

clobug - without sounding patronising happy mummy = happy baby - you must do what you feel makes you happiest - don't torture yourself - I had terrible getting my first to breastfeed and it made me so unhappy - completely ruined our first few months together - I was so scared to bottle feed because breastfeeding was the ONLY way to go and was expected. I eventually started bottle feeding at 7 weeks, ds1 stopped screaming all day and night, started sleeping and became almost angelic - not a coincidence.

I then bottle fed ds2 from birth as I was scared of a repeat - but now expecting no.3 and plan to breastfeed - but not to be hard on myself if it all goes to pot.

Good luck clobug xxx
