my DS is 6 months now and am going to start introducing formula. He has been breast fed until now. So confused about all the different formulas and follow on milk don't know what to do for best. Any body got any recommendations or even if I use follow on or normal formula. Any help appreciated!

Mine were both fine with sma once I stopped breast feeding. I always found that ds2 was more settled with the ready made stuff for some reason. I guess you need to just buy a small amount of one product and see how it goes

Follow on is generally a little cheaper, and often on offer- obviously cos they CAN put it on offer as it is outside the marketing rules.

We used SMA Gold with no issues from 3-6 months then moved onto SMA Progress when DS went on a milk strike at 6 months at the suggestion of a friend. It has/ had a slightly different flavour which oviously DS prefered so he started drinking milk again (big relief obviously)

Cazwaz247 i think they are all much the same. I think cow & gate has a strange taste though. i probably shouldnt be giving any advice as my ds is now 11 months and i still breast feed him as he didnt like the taste of any formula. i tried c&g hipp SMA. my hv said he would get used to the taste eventually if he had no other choice. i hope you have better luck.

Aptmil have recommended to me by midwife and it was the brand they offered me in hospital, it was my intention to breast feed but couldn't!

I feed all of mine on it and it was very good.
