Breastfeeding newborn with toddler around....

Seriously, how??

All ds1(3) wants to do is poke and prod at ds2, I can't seem to distract him with toys, games, even cbeebies and the iPad only work briefly.

Ds2 is 5 weeks old and is generally only happy when attached to the boob, ds1 is basically running riot while I'm pinned to the sofa.

Any advice, or is it just a case of waiting....

I could have wrote your post! Ds1 is 17m and just wants up every time I attach ds2 to boob!! Thomas on DVD is helping but doesn't last long enough!!

Get out for some fresh air or a play date in the morning to wear out DC1, then home for lunch and a DVD in the afternoon. Seriously low standards when it comes to housework also help ;)

Junk food. And see if you can find any slings you can feed in.

Oh, and homemade playdoh and some cookie cutters. Keeps my 3yo happy for ages.

Try reading stories to DS1? Or I've been pretending we are sitting in a car and my toddler sits next to me and beeps an imaginary horn, puts the imaginary windows up and down, crashes etc. It sounds crazy but is surprisingly fun.
