How do I stop breastfeeding when my baby is fed to sleep??

My DS is 8.5 months old and I breastfeed him to sleep for his day naps. At night, he will go to sleep without a breastfeed (bottle instead) and some sushing and rocking, but not in the day.

He also wakes up twice a night for a breastfeed.

Despite this, I think we're both ready to move on from breastfeeding. He's easily distracted and won't feed properly unless we're at home. And, to be honest, I'd like the freedom to go out for the day - or even have a lie-in without getting aching, sore boobs (!).

Ideally, I'd like to keep one feed and drop the rest. Is this even possible? And can anyone tell me their experiences stopping breastfeeding?

Not entirely sure how to answer all of your questions, sorry. Have you tried calling one of the Bfing Helplines and speaking to a BFC? If not, it might be worth giving one of them a call tomorrow Smile
