Leaving baby in evening with an emergency bottle

Agh! Just a quick WWYD if anyone's out there!

DS is 5mo, ebf and has never had a bottle. I have no expressed milk stored. He goes to bed at 6:30 and around 3 nights a week will wake before 10:30 and I feed him back to sleep. He wakes up pretty upset and no amount of ssshing etc will settle him.

I've just found out that this evening I have to go out, leaving straight after his bedtime and getting back about 10:30. I really can't take him with me.

Is this going to be really terrible? I've just pumped 5oz - will this be enough or should I try again later? He might not wake up, but if he does I've no idea if he'll take a bottle or if it'll settle him! Confused

5oz will be plenty. Good luck!

5oz sounds like a reasonable feed. Good luck with it!

Thanks! Well, he did wake up and wouldn't touch the bottle! DH eventually got him back to sleep rocking him in the buggy. sigh

When my daughter was BF I would go out sometimes and she was very fussy about how she would take her bottle. Once we cracked that it was fine. Smile
