Is it ok to mix expressed milk with formula?

Bit of a strange question! At the moment I express milk each day which DH gives to DD at bedtime. This arrangement has worked well and suited us all for several months. Now DD is 7 months old I think she perhaps needs more milk at bedtime than I can express (usually about 6 oz). I don't feel ready to switch to formula yet but could I mix some with the expressed milk to make it up to 8oz? Is this about the same amount other babies have at that age? I'm concerned she seems to be waking for a feed earlier so she must be hungry! Any advice appreciated!

Short answer is yes, absolutely you can mix. Just make sure the formula is freshly made up, mix it in one bottle then add it to the ebm or add the ebm to it. Don't mix then heat. If your ebm needs heating from cold, do this before mixing.
My youngest is 6mth and I have stopped bf this week but still have some ebm frozen. I'm doing half/half for bedtime bottle over the next 2wks.

Just reread. I don't think they ever need more than 7 at each feed. Maybe tank her in the afternoon or up her solid intake. Maybe some cereal such as porridge at tea time.

Thank you, I'm pleased you mentioned about heating, I wouldn't have thought of that! I have absolutely no idea how to make up formula either come to think of it! I have one bottle of ready mixed that I bought for an emergency so I might use that to start with and see how we get on.
In the longer term I expect we will switch to a bottle of formula at bedtime. I normally express before bed (around 9.30-10 ish). Worried that if she has formula at bedtime, there's no need to express and so I'll go from about 3-4 pm until about 2-3 am without offloading any milk. What will happen then? Should I express just a bit to stop huge leaky boobs or will that stimulate them more?

Just read your second message. Thanks, will try cereal at tea time!
