Sterilising breast pump twice

Hi all, brand new to the parenting game and also the bottle feeding malarkey. Basically been purely BFing for last 5 weeks but now want to start expressing a bit so DH can do the odd night feed. I have just bought an Avent 2-in-1 steriliser and have a medela harmony pump with calma bottle. If I express one bottle in morning do I need to wash up and sterilize pump immediately? Because DH will wash up bottle and sterilize that at night which would mean pump gets sterilised twice as it will be left in there from the morning when I washed it up after morning expressing. Sterilising twice isn't an issue is it??

Also is it ok to take teat out with cover on and it will stay sterile?

Also is it ok to handle bottles teats etc with clean hands??

Thanks all, sorry total newbie here panicking about sterilisation!!

Pop all the parts of the pump into a freezer bag and into the fridge. Clean and sterilise once a day.

You may find that you will have to pump several times before you get enough to make up a full bottle. When I first started to pump I could only manage 1/2oz at a time. So I used to pop the pump (with milk still inside the attached bottle) in the fridge, and then pump some more later on. Or you can pour out the milk into a little pot or a milk storage bag (the bags can be frozen. They are pre-sterilised and you can get them in Home Bargins for £1.99)
It's fine to touch things with clean hands.
You can leave things inside the steriliser for up to 24 hours and they will remain sterile. Or if you take the lid off, it's best to assemble the bottle/pump straight away and then once it's assembled it will stay sterile for 24 hours.

Thanks for replies! @stargirl do I do this after cleaning and sterilising or after pumping?

Either is fine. I clean and sterilise using Milton. After I use the pump, I pop it into the fridge.

You don't need to sterilise. Just clean in hot soapy water & dry with clean kitchen roll.
This is the advice from the milk bank that I donate to.
