I'd love to hear what your older babes say about bf. My extended family just can't cope with the idea of a talking feeding toddler.

Mine has stopped bf now but I am due another baby any day now, and she likes to look at my boobs, ask me to express a little bit, and say "mummy milk for the baby!"

Whenever DD sees me without a top on she comes up and pats my breasts and says "Mama they so pretty". She's 2 and a half. It's a lovely compliment.

Ds2 isnt really talking yet but after he has fed in the morning he puts his finger on my nipple and then puts it to my lips, then does the same to dhs lips, as though he wants to share it.

When I get out of the shower DD (almost 2.5) says "dry the milks Mama"

"Milk time! Dit down dere, mummy. Dis milk. Now unner milk."

My DD isn't really talking yet- 15m. She has taken to clapping and giggling mid feed though which is v cute!

Just wanted to say that these little ones sound very sweet and this thread is making me want to continue to feed my baby until she can talk and be all extra cute about it! Not sure we will be feeding for that long but you never know.

Enid- you never do know. I only planned on bfeeding for 6 months but when the time came everything was going so well it seemed daft to switch to formula, 12 months came and went by 2 years my babies had ideas of their own and ended up allowing them to self wean- it was never planned.

Take one day at a time and do what feels right to you.

Aw judy. That's sad. And a horrible thing to say. It doesn't surprise me though. I have been called a child abuser by one woman, gross, and my aunt told me she though I was breastfeeding for my own sexual gratification.

Awwwww am loving reading these posts. I BFd my first DD till she was 20 mths and nearly 7 years later she still looks wistfully at me with those milky eyes!! She has very graciously passed on 'her' "nibbles" to her baby sister now despite the occasional 'but can't I just have a go' to which Ishriek get away from me you strapping great grownup child explain patiently she no longer needs breastmilk or has the sucking reflex. Looking forward to whatever DD2 has to say about it when the time comes.

I have a 17 year old son who remembers being breastfed.

Just tried unsuccessfully to do a strike through 'shriek get away from me...' there but failed dismally!

My DD aged 2 asks for "mummy mimi" and when she sees me in the bath she smiles and points and squeals with joy. The other day we had a bath together which she loved. She also says "other side please" and "thank you" when she is finished.

The list is endless and lovely, my DD is both a chatterbox and a boob monster. She is 22 mo now, I bf her brother till he self weaned at 20 mo but she is not showing any signs of stopping.

You're right, I started off thinking I'll see how it goes and am amazed we are still going at 7 months. Have no idea when I'll stop so could well end up with a chatty feeder!
