DD 11 months - teeth and painful breastfeeding - any advice/experience?

DD, 11mts, has EBF (until solids introduced at 6 months). No problems at all until recently with top teeth. With first one she wouldn't/couldn't feed for a few days. We got over that but now with the third top tooth it's really painful for me - she seems to be feeding quite happily and isn't biting but it's really sore - fairly sure it's where her teeth are resting on/rubbing my nipple. On one boob I've got small cuts on the nipple. Boobs are also getting quite tender and sore generally. Has been painful for a good 10 days and no improvement. Changed position (to rugby ball) which helped for a while but now that hurts too and the left is starting to get sore as well. Taking her off and relatching really doesn't seem to do anything. Have used lanisoha (sp?) cream and followed advice from Kelly mom etc but no real improvement. Seen GP today and got all clear for thrush, mastitis etc

So. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm worried it's just going to hurt more especially if I get more cuts/broken skin
And has anyone worked through this? I'm worried it's going to cause us to stop before we want to. Plus we don't really have an alternative as she's never taken a bottle and isn't good with milk from a cup.
Many thanks Smile

May not be relevant at all but she's also always been a so called "happy puker" and had a really sensitive gag reflex with food. So sometimes she has fed from me, then brings it up all over me, so we have to start again which is much more disheartening now feeds are so uncomfortable.
She's feeding about 4 times a day if that's relevant too
Any experience/thoughts/hand holding gratefully received Smile

I have no real advise but something similar happened to me when LO was 8 months and was just before 4 teeth came rapidly up. I didn't have the broken skin though. I actually pulled out nipple shields one day because she was hurting me so much. It lasted about 2 weeks and then it went away - so I can't offer any useful tips to stop the pain. Do you have multi-mam compresses? they are lovely and seem to have magical soothing properties.

My LO is now 13months and I've had 2 x 2 week periods of this over the last few months. It's like she needs to re-learn how to feed with each new tooth. I've had cuts and very tender nipples but it passed. Didn't do anything. Just preserved. Hopefully it will be a passing phase for you too.

Thanks both so much for replying - really helpful to know it passed for both of you. Is making me realise I really don't want to have to stop feeding if possible. Having to relearn how to feed is exactly how I'd describe it too. Will look up the compresses thank you, haven't tried them so definitely worth a try Grin
