Yesterday evening I started feeling shivery, achey and fluey and my right boob was very tender and sore, so I went straight to bed but I carried on feeding DD (8 weeks)through the night. This morning I feel a bit better but my right boob is still very painful. I'm not sure what to do - can I take any pain relief whilst bf, or do I need antibiotics?

there are antibiotics you can take while bfing.

I would definitely see your GP about it before it gets any worse - it definitely sounds like mastitis.

you can take paracetamol while bfing. I've got a feeling that ibuprofen isn't such a great idea - check the box before you take anything obviously.

Mastitis is sooo awful. I went on antibiotics straight away. And it does feel like the flu, so I think you have diagnosed yourself correctly.
