Stopping bedtime BF- please tell me how you did it!

I am going back to work in a couple of weeks and won't always be able to get back for bedtime.

DD just turned two and will be starting nursery at the same time. I'm planning to stop BF but thought it might be too much to stop feeding altogether at the moment.

DH will need to put her to bed without me, so we need a bedtime routine that doesn't involve feeding. She doesn't have a bottle and has stories etc. She just always winds down with a feed and then goes in her cot, and has since birth!

If anyone has any stories of doing this, especially with a toddler, I would love to hear them TIA Smile

hi,
I gave up bfing DS at 18mo and the bedtime feed was the last to go, but had been the only feed for several weeks at that point. He too was never really on a bottle, but at 2 would DD take a beaker/cup of warm milk from DH?

When my DP does bedtime now, DS often takes my nightie to bed with him - maybe something that smells of you, along with her milk, might make a nice alternative routine?
