hi i have read that heating the cows milk can change the structure of the protein. so would i be ok using uht milk? i am only asking as i had some of my sons uht milkshake a few days ago and other than being a tiny bit grumpy my baby hasnt really reacted. whereas when i had cows milk or soya milk she was really rotten and screaming for days and nights, watery nappies tec. thanks in advance

I think it depends on the child! Cooking will alter the structure of the protein so theoretically I guess it makes sense. I've also heard that some babies are ok with fermented milk so yoghurt etc. Didn't work with mine though!
Maybe a bit of trial and error the only way to find out?

I had an alllergy to heated cheese and milk as a child. When you heat them, I think it increases the size of the lactose molecules , which is what can cause upset in the body. Well it did for me ,as it compounded blood sugar problems. I was always sick after eating it , didnt know why for years.

Trial and error is really the only way to find out. It may just be a build up thing though, and because you had just a little as a one off it wasn't enough to set your baby off, but if you had it all the time then it might.

Have you tried rice or oat milk? I know they aren't as nice as 'proper' milk, but they are ok for some things.
