How long can I keep EBM in me fridge?

cos am about to go back to work, eek.

Am sure I read somewhere it will keep in coldest part of fridge for seven days, or am I wrong?

Am stockpiling in freezer right now, but not sure I'd fancy defrosted milk so don't know how DS will react.......

TIA

My lansinoh sterilized bags said 3 days and 24 hours if it's been frozen and defrosted. Dunno what other companies say. hth.

heres link to website kellymom .

Ive been wondering the same , threw precious 2oz away last night as I had no clue when I expressed it . Thought it was only 24hrs as said on Isis Avent instructions ???????????

alibobble · 19/09/2006 21:31

The lansinoh bags are good in that respect as in you can label them so you know when it got expressed.

Mum2FunkyDude · 19/09/2006 21:37

Always better to express everyday, the milk you do not use for the day straight into the freezer for up to 3 months. I never kept my ebm for more than 24hrs in the fridge. You need to take in considerations the amount of traffic in your fridge, i.e. how many times a day does it get opened etc. I think you are still safe up to 48 hrs, but really it is just easier to freeze it straightaway.

ahhhhh , can I pump into an avent bottle and then transfer? to then transfer back into a bottle. hang on that seems a faff ! wish avent had a labelling thing of some sort.

chipmonkey · 19/09/2006 21:40

LLL and kellymom say its fine in the back of the fridge for 8 days
At room temp for 12 hours
Freezer 12 months

Avent are much more conservative so I ignored them!
