recently breastfeeding amd worried he's not getting enough.

I've got a 5wk old little boy and I've always expressed as he refused to latch but still offered him breast before every bottle but finally teo days ago he finally latched yay. So been BF during the day and expressing of a night.
I'm just worried that he's not getting enough, he jas around 5 dirty nappies in 24hrs and around 5 full wet ones, he feeds every two hours but will sometimea go four (I jave to wake him) he latches around 5 times in 24hrs and feeds from each breast around 10-15 mins. He falls asleep at the breast but will also fall asleep on his own without feeding roxking etc... I'm worries he's sleeping due to lack of energy from not getting enough food.
Basically my question os would he fall asleep if he was genuinely hungry?

If he's gaining weight and producing wet and dirty nappies then he's getting enough milk - don't beat yourself up about the specific amount, it's not like ff where specific amounts are consumed - bf babies take what they need.

You can build your milk supply by feeding directly from the breast as much as possible (especially over night), there's no need to express if your baby is latching.

Omg! 5 dirty nappies is fine, my 3 week old is only pooping every two days so you seem well on track, weight gain is your best indicator. Congrats on doing so well!

I'll BF of a night aswel but I think it will take me a while to gain confidence in my breast before I take full express away. With expressing atleast I kmow he's had something. :)

You'll know he's had something gillian because he won't be hungry and he'll be producing wet and dirty nappies! And as babies are usually better at getting milk out of boobs than a pump, I wouldn't bother expressing. Honestly. Have confidence in yourself :)
