White mucous in stools - side effect of ranitidine?

Hi, just a quickie and will definitely call the doctor in the morning, but DS was prescribed ranitidine yesterday. He has had 3 doses so far. He did a poo this morning that was totally normal, but just did another that was full of stringy bits of white mucous. Some of it looked like tiny pieces of scrambled egg whites! (sorry TMI)

Could this be a side effect of the medication, has anyone else had similar? It seems too much of a coincidence to be anything else?

Usually he only poos once every ten days and we were due a big one around now but two in one day is a bit unusual too.

Thanks in advance

Mine was on ranitidine and she had this mucousy poo but when I mentioned it to the HV it was put down to teething as she was very snotty when teething
