Best sippy cups, beakers, etc to move from BFing?

Hello! My 7mo has refused every type of bottle out there and I have given up trying. I would like to move him onto taking some formula from a cup. He uses the Tommy tippy cup a bit with just water but nothing like he would need to take a proper feed.

Have any of you had any success moving a bottle refuser to taking milk from a cup? If so which ones?

I'll be going back to work soon and really stressed about it! :(

My 7mo ds never took a bottle, but will happily drink water from a Nuby cup or doidy cup. not sure if he will take milk from them yet.

This now worked wonders for me. Dd is now 12 months and still fb and this is her favourite but can now drink from most cups. Tesco do one that is very similar and cheaper too!

DS never took a bottle.

I went straight from ebf to a NUK sippy cup with a soft teat, no problems, although he wouldn't have formula (he hated it), just water.

That's a good point as my dd didn't really like formula either. She started nursery at 11 months so I managed without- she had the odd cup of whole milk and extra breast feeds before and after

Ds never had milk from a cup when I was present. I handed him over to nursery with fingers crossed and he used to get through loads of ebm there.

It may be worth trying a regular drinking straw in an open cup - was the only thing that worked for us!

I'm a childminder and had great success with a ebf child using a Tommie tippie from 6 months when I had him 2 days per week

Nuk soft spout sippy. Avoid anything 'no spill' or with a valve, as in my experience bf babies with no bottle experience don't know what to do. Free-flow all the way.

I tried a few cups, but kept going back to that Tommy Tippee one.

This Momma straw cup has been amazing for us. It has a soft, flexible straw (can tuck it away for transport) and doesn't spill even when repeatedly chucked on the floor.

My ebf ds didn't get in with sippy cups and could only use a doidy with lots of assistance or he would fling it about. He used this straw cup like a pro from first try at 6.5 months. We're still using it at 11 months (though he will drink from a doidy cup now!) as we leave it in his cot at night so he can help himself to water if he wants. It doesn't dribble or leak, unlike some non-spill cups we had.

Ooh, geeka - does the straw in the mOmma have a valve? I've been looking for a free-flow straw cup.

DS2 started with the Doidy and then moved on to that Nuk soft spout sippy.

This is a job to hand over to your DP, if you have one. DH taught DD to drink from a doidy cup (she was a bottle refuser) at 4 months. I kept well out of it, but he turned it into a rather messy game, and she picked it up within about a week.

She then switched to the very basic (cheap) Tommy Tippee free-flow sippy cup (the one with the spout that pulls up) when she started with cm at 6.5 months.

Ham - the Momma straw cup doesn't have a valve, exactly, but the top end of the flexible straw is rounded off with an X cut through. When ds sucks the straw, he compresses the end, the X opens, and the drink comes through. Not sure I'm explaining it clearly enough. Speed of flow depends on degree of compression.

I find it easier to drink from than a valved sippy cup...
