9 week old - growth spurt or upset tummy?

Hello all,

I am going out of my mind with my 9 week old. Up until recently he was feeding approx. every 3 hours during the day, going 'to bed' at 7pm and sleeping to between 5am-6am with a sleepy feed at about 10:30pm (bottle of ebm).

For the last 48 hours he has been cranky, crying and appearing to want to feed every 2 hours or so. He has never been a great day sleeper but is even worse at only sleeping in short 20/30 min naps during the day and waking still cranky. The other change is that yesterday he filled his nappy 8 times with stinky poo! He normally poos about 3-4 times a day. He doesn't particularly seem in pain, but just unhappy most of the time.

Can anyone help? Is he sick or having a growth spurt or something else? I just don't know how to help him...

x

Hey. There's a growth spurt at 8 weeks. It should settle down soon.
He will be pooing more because he is drinking more milk.

There is also a developmental leap between 8-10 weeks so that will be causing him to be cranky too.
Hang in there! He'll settle down xx
