DD2 14 weeks 4 days is feeding pretty much constantly and it's really starting to get me down.

She's been diagnosed with silent reflux which she's on Gaviscon. She also has an upper lip tie and (suspected) CMP allergy.

We've been referred to hospital (over another ago) for the lip tie and CMP allergy but there's a long wait, so were still waiting. Have some hypoallergenic formula (Nutramigen 1), but she refuses to take bottle.

On a typical day, DD2 will want to be on the breast almost constantly, she rarely goes more than an hour without wanting to feed and at night is almost always constantly latched on.

I'm finding the constant feeding is really getting me down, I'm exhausted, frustrated and feeling hopeless.

It's affecting family life as I am hardly able to spend any time with DD1 (2.7). Days out without DH are a nightmare, and will normally involve me walking round farm/park etc feeding DD2 whilst DD1 is all but being ignored.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry you're having such a time of it. Firstly do you have plenty of milk? My ds would feed almost constantly too and it was only after a considerable time that I came to the conclusion he was hungry as not getting enough in one go. He also wouldn't take a bottle but would very occasionally take a sippy cup or lap it from an open cup. If you can bear it try a dummy to see if she is just using boob as a comforter. If you're sure she's getting enough milk then get a routine going of leaving say an hour after a feed before you let her back on and gradually stretch the time out. x

Thank you for your suggestions.

I've tried a dummy, she spits it out. I think I do have enough milk as I often feel letdown a couple of times during each feed.

She does sometimes use me for comfort but often when she wants a feed she'll cry with urgency then suck really hard, whereas when she wants the comfort she will just do little butterfly sucks.

Tried a sippy cup but I don't think she's ready for it yet, I'll try an open cup, thank you.

I'll try holding her off, it's easier when DH is able to take her but when it's just me she won't be held for long without wanting a feed.

Counting down the months until being able to wean onto solids!
