omneo comfort/enfamil preparation - sicky baby

i just need to find out a few things about prearing these 2 milks as considering changing feed due to dd's regular vomiting:

i know with the omneo, the powder should be added to warm water. I normally fill the bottles and just leave out to add normal formula when needed. I was wonering if i could just fill the bottles, then heat the water b4 adding the omneo?

How is enfamil prepared - could i fill the bottles with water in advance and then add the formula?

Use gaviscon at the mo but reluctant to keep using it as heard it can increase baby's sodium levels. Advice would be really appreciated - thanks

I have enfamil ar for dd and I boil kettle pour out amount of bottles needed for 24hrs then leave the water on the side. I add formula when needed and give it to dd.

thanks - did enfamil/omneo help with reflux and possetting?

I have just started using the Omneo milk due to colic problems along with Dentinox colic drops before hand. I also was putting the boiled water in bottles and leaving out to cool. I find warming the water first then adding the powder helps it dissolve better but aslong is it is shaken well I don't think it matters too much.

Have you tried the Dr Browns bottles? Stopped dd1 possetting totally.

pigletandme · 30/08/2006 16:01

never heard of possetting being due to the type of bottle. will have to give it a go

It's because of swallowing air. My dd1 had a temporary lactose intolerance that made her very windy. These bottles helped no end. Terrible faff to wash up though!

use avent bottles at the moment - are dr browns alot better than these to stop posseting? i thought the avent ones stopped babies swallowing air?

Avent ones are good, I use them with ds who has no other wind problems. However, for a baby that does posset a lot Dr. Brown's are far better. Dd1 never possetted at all on those. They are pricey, but worth it IME.

Enfamil worked wonders for dd. She was horrendous before she started it constantly screaming in pain and throwing up. then she started enfamil and worked wonders no problems at all.

Tried loads with my 3 and dr browns bottles won hands down - results within hours. My 3 also needed SMA Wysoy though.
