Baby is 10mo and I bf her at very specific times during the day. No more guerrilla feeds at random times in random places! But I'm not sure if I need to stay under-wireless for h&s reasons while I've still got milk coming in. Anyone know the party line? Thanks Smile

Both times I was back in a well fitting underwired bra by about nine months. I am a gg cup, I hated life without underwire! I still feed from them fine, I just pull my boob out of the cup. (I am feeding like this atm Grin)

rubyslippers · 27/04/2014 14:29

When DD was one I went back into underwired

Make sure they fit well

Bunbaker · 27/04/2014 14:31

After about a week. I am not well endowed and only grew half a cup size and never leaked so I just didn't bother wearing one at all.

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 27/04/2014 14:32

I fed for two years with my DD, and I'm on month two with DS, and I have worn underwired nursing bras throughout, always been fine, I always buy Elomi ones, but there are others out there, not cheap mind you but better than no support for me

Artandco · 27/04/2014 14:32

Never had one. Just worn regular normal bras. Both fed until 2 ish years

hedgetrimmer · 27/04/2014 15:40

ive never worn one,i just use normal underwired ones, you just need to make sure they fit ok,not too tight.

MyNameIsSuz · 27/04/2014 15:45

I went back into a normal underwired one once we were only feeding in the house - from about 9 months it was just morning and bedtime, so no need to wear a nursing bra. To be honest I didn't even think about the whole underwire blocking milk ducts thing! If they fit well it shouldn't be a problem.

soapnuts · 27/04/2014 15:45

I'm afraid to say I'm still in mine - ds2 is 16 months. I wore underwires for a week when I was pregnant with him and promptly got mastitis (yeah I has no idea you could get it when not breast feeding either!) so I m a little paranoid now. I am really looking forward to the day I can wear them again but I'm not sure when ill dare!

hedgehogy · 27/04/2014 15:50

I'm still wearing nursing bras and DD is 10 months. I don't want to risk going back to underwired until I've stopped (having had mastitis and an abscess), plus I'm still feeding her quite a lot during the day. I have Bravado ones - I quite like them.

BetsyBell · 27/04/2014 15:54

I went back to underwire for one day (for DS2s 1st birthday!) and ended up with mastitis. I stopped BF when I got better. And then went back to underwire in safety!

jaggythistle · 27/04/2014 16:03

I am completely addicted to my comfy Bravado bras. Blush

I will have to be weaned off them like I was with big pants after my c- section for dc 1.

jaggythistle · 27/04/2014 16:04

Oh and my 'baby' is now 2. . .

leedy · 27/04/2014 19:13

Underwires should be fine as long as they're really well fitting and don't press on any ducts. I've been living in Anita underwired BF bras since DS2 was about three months old, they're the biz and I think specially designed to not squash you anywhere.

MissMarjoribanks · 27/04/2014 19:17

I went back into underwired bras this time when I went back to work and we went down to a morning and evening (and middle of the night, for a few months) feed only. He was 9mo. I am small of boob and wore my pregnancy bras for a bit then my pre-pregnancy bras. I've been fine. I had mastitis loads with DS1 so am prone if things aren't quite right.
